Red Oak
Quercus rubra
Red oak is the fastest-growing of our native oaks and one of the most valuable shade trees you can plant. It develops a broad, rounded crown, turns deep russet-red in fall, and its acorns feed deer, turkeys, jays and squirrels. We grow ours in containers so the roots transplant well.
