Common Ninebark
Physocarpus opulifolius
Ninebark is one of the toughest and most versatile native shrubs. In late spring it is covered in white to pale-pink flower clusters that bees love, followed by reddish seed capsules, and its peeling bark adds winter interest. Named varieties with purple or golden leaves are some of the most popular landscape shrubs in Ontario.
