Red Maple
Acer rubrum
Red maple earns its name three times a year: red flowers in early spring, red leaf stems in summer and brilliant scarlet in fall. It is one of the most adaptable native trees, handling wet ground that would drown a sugar maple, and it grows noticeably faster.
