Trees

When is the best time to plant a tree?

Spring (after the ground thaws, roughly late April to June) and fall (September to late October) are ideal in Eastern Ontario. Cool temperatures and steady moisture help roots establish. Potted stock can be planted through summer with diligent watering.

Are all your trees really native?

Yes. Everything we grow is native to Eastern Ontario. We don't grow or sell invasive species, and we don't sell ash trees because of the emerald ash borer.

Do you grow all of your own trees?

We're growing our fields up season by season. Our own young stock is grown on here on the farm, and while it matures we also hand-pick finished trees from trusted Ontario growers. Every tree meets the same quality standard, and we're always happy to tell you where a particular tree came from.

Do you have a current price and availability list?

Availability changes through the season as trees are reserved and dug. Send us a request or call, and we'll share what's ready now along with current pricing.

Can I reserve trees ahead of time?

Absolutely — we recommend it. The best specimens go early, especially in spring. Reach out over the winter or early in the season to reserve.

Do you sell large quantities for windbreaks or reforestation?

Yes. Seedlings and whips are a cost-effective way to plant windbreaks, hedgerows and larger naturalization projects. Tell us the length of row or area and we'll suggest species and spacing.

Visiting & ordering

Can I visit the farm?

Yes, by appointment. Booking ahead means someone is available to walk the rows with you and safely load your purchase. It also keeps traffic on our road light for our neighbours.

Do you deliver?

We deliver trees and landscape materials across South Stormont and nearby SD&G communities. Delivery is quoted based on distance and load.

What payment do you accept?

Please ask when you order and we'll confirm the current payment options. Prices are subject to HST.

Landscape supply & services

Can I buy topsoil or stone without buying trees?

Yes. Our supplies are geared to our tree customers, but you're welcome to purchase materials on their own, subject to availability.

Do you accept fill or extra soil from my project?

No. We do not accept fill, excess soil, concrete, asphalt or any other materials onto our property. For excess soil, check with your municipality about local options.

Will you plant trees I bought somewhere else?

Our small crew focuses on planting trees from our farm, so we can stand behind the quality from field to yard. Bed, mulch and stone work is usually done alongside a tree planting.

Do I need to call before you dig?

Yes — locates are required by law in Ontario before digging. When our crew plants for you, we arrange the free locates through Ontario One Call before the job. If you're planting yourself, request locates at ontarioonecall.ca a few business days ahead.
